Intro

This blog is dedicated to the Yukon Arctic Ultra, the preparation, what does it takes, the why, and the how and all things you can need to prepare for this race, before, while, and beyond.

I absolutely not know all, I only want to share my experience, what works and what won't work for me, what I experienced and the lessons I learned.😌😌

Maybe you ask how this happen and why I decided to be on the start line of this race.

It all started 3 years ago. It was a hard time for me, my father just died in the first week in January 2017.

As a very sportive person and as a fitness instructor and climber I need to have a project to keep the head above the water because I know that it helps me to focus and keep in mind that "one day, things will going better".

So as I wrote, it was the second week of January 2017, on Saturday. Just came back from my work and back home. The TV was on and it was the "Journal du midi" on France 2 ..... and at the same time I had a look on the TV and they reported on Rovaniemi 300, polar Race in Finland, in the Santa Claus town himself...

I heard it very carefully and I was totally overwhelmed by the images and the beauty of the landscapes. (All my friends know that I'm in love with snow, cold, and all adventures outside in the cold).

At the same time, I thought: "It's exactly what I need, I wanna do this race, One day".

And this was only the beginning of this incredible story.

What I didn't know is that between the moment I said that and between the moment I would be on the start line, it will take time, but at the same time, it was the only project who helps me to hang in there in the worst moment of my life.

2 years after this Report, I was thinking about Polar races, and at the same time I was following the Yukon Arctic Ultra where two French People was racing : Thierry Corbarieu and Luc Atgé. They are both on the 430 miles. It was very exciting and if I wanted to race such Polar races I have to ask some requests to people who was well experimented about this polar races and who already gave some advices to Thierry Corbarieu (who won the 430 miles ). So that's what I did. and that's all started a day in February 2019.
